Upton Planning Committee and The UPC Westside CDC broke ground on a project to rehabilitate 41 vacant lots in the Upton community. These lots will provide six manicured green spaces surrounding the 800 blocks of Harlem and Edmondson Avenue in Upton’s NUPA/Upton West Neighborhoods. “This project is the fruit of the UPC Westside CDC Public Safety and Green Space Workgroup and will bring much needed beauty to the community”, said Darroll Cribb, UPC Board Chair. The project is being implemented by Parks and People Foundation and supported by the State of Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development. It is anticipated that the new landscaped spaces will be ready by this Spring.
